Restoration and Conservation at Ted Gibson
Ted Gibson Inc. doesn't just frame art: they restore and repair works of art as well. These photos show work in progress on two oil paintings that needed extensive work, including repairing tears, filling in paint loss and stabilizing and varnishing the surface. Next step: framing in an appropriate period frame!

Asian style frames
Frame moldings in Chinese and Japanese styles have long been a specialty at Ted Gibson. Between Los Angeles' Chinese and Japanese communities and collectors of Asian art, there has always been a demand for these special moldings. They look especially good with fabric wrapped mats. The corners or even the whole frame can be gilt. These frames also look very good in a simple monochromatic lacquered finish in black or red. Additionally, the Asian style moldings can be made very deep to hold antique textiles or fans.
